Carlo and Fabio Ingrassia at Macro in Rome.
DECEMBER 1, 2015
A thin layer of pink pigment forms a black rectangle on the floor of one of the halls of the Macro, with two blank portions, which correspond precisely to the pink backgrounds present on two white cards hanging on the wall in front. The Limits of Forgiveness (2014) is not only a rigorous and precise installation that dominates the exhibition of Carlo and Fabio Ingrassia, curated by Cornelia Lauf at Macro Reggio Emilia.
As underlines David Freedberg, leads us into the world of mysterious and ambiguous “shades identity” of being identical twins, one left-handed and the other right, drawing together, as if the act manual made four hands could compose One of the Platonic. “Carlo defines the sign, and a sign Fabio joins blown. The margins do not touch, if anything you suggest,” they explain. And among the works, all interesting, on display at the Macro, this goes further, putting together art and life, practice and concept, Carlo and Fabio towards unity ideal Vie en Rose.
